Ultracoal is an emerging open-cast mining contractor specialising in delivering medium- to large-scale mining projects. In addition to a comprehensive range of services, we are a domestic steam coal marketer, positioned to optimise the pit-to-port value chain.

Established in 2020, we combine top-tier technical expertise in open-cast mining with a strong client base and a growing balance sheet to support and deliver mining contracts.

Our Services

Contract Mining

We maintain a comprehensive load-and-haul fleet tailored to various operating environments. Our primary loading equipment generally comprises backhoe-configured excavators weighing between 70t and 120t. These excavators are thoughtfully paired with hauling units, taking into account factors such as project location, operating conditions, and the scope of work. We follow a strict policy of keeping our primary loading fleet with low operating hours and aim to standardise equipment across sites whenever possible.

In numerous projects, we oversee and execute our own drill and blast operations, enabling us to maintain greater oversight of the processes within the opencast mining chain and mitigate risks associated with reliance on external parties.

Mine Rehabilitation

Restoring and revitalizing mined lands to their natural state, ensuring long-term environmental sustainability.

Materials Handling

Our materials handling often constitutes an important step in the ore processing chain. Ultracoal possesses an extensive fleet of Front-End Loaders, varying from 5t to 70t in operating weight. Our prospect material handling ventures encompass the movement of both raw materials and concentrated products. We take pride in our extensive experience across coal, discard and other commodities
